Local Salt Lake Food-Gifts: Wine & Spirits Edition

18 December 2010 By: Becky One Comment | Foodie Love, Life in the Valley

Surprisingly, Salt Lake has a good variety of local spirits to choose from that would make great gifts for Christmas this year.

To start, there’s the new Epic Beer that comes in generous 22 ounce bottles.  They have a variety of beers to choose from with well designed labels and full bodied flavor.

In addition to Epic Beers, you have your classic Salt Lake brews from Squatters, Wasatch Beers, and Dessert Edge.  If you have a friend or family that you know has a local favorite, make sure and stop by and grab a few bottles for their stockings or fill up a growler to put under the tree.  Or just wrap up a six pack and put it in the fridge… you’re loved one will be surprised to find a wrapped box in the fridge when they go to grab the OJ in the morning.

Besides beers, have you checked out High West Distillery’s whiskey?  Well is is top notch and any person that loves a good cocktail would love a bottle of this.  Plus the bottle itself is pretty sweet!  There are several bottles to choose from.  Their newest is their Silver Whiskey.  I also recommend the Rendezvous bottle.

As for wine, I can’t honestly recommend any local Utah wines, but I will tell you that we have an excellent Wine Store on 300 West that has a large variety of wines from all around the world.  The friendly employees would be glad to help you pick out the perfect bottle for your special someone.

I hope you enjoyed my series of local food and drink gifts!  Have a wonderful Christmas with the ones you love.
