No, not that place – The Other Place Restaurant

10 November 2011 By: Casey No Comment | Restaurant Reviews

The Other Place Restaurant; my favorite go-to restaurant in Salt Lake for breakfast, cheap prices, fast service, and the most amazing way to slay a hangover! It’s also a pretty fab hot spot for chowin’ down on some awesome Greek. Gyro’s anyone … oh hells yes!

For lunch today, Kevin and I decided to hit up The Other Place since we hadn’t been there in a while. We walked in at noon and the place was jumpin’! As usual, we were greeted by a server within the first 30 seconds of walking in and she plopped us down at a lil’ 2 top. The service here is always fast, always friendly, and their food is always consistent. There is little left to be desired from this quaint Salt Lake Greek restaurant.

For lunch today, Kevin ordered a gyro omelette (yes, breakfast for lunch!) and a side of french toast. I was really craving a gryo which came with a massive side salad and fries. Even though the restaurant was packed, our food was out in about 5 – 7 minutes after ordering. Our meals were hot, smothered in delicious feta, and was very satisfying. We had no complaints.

The Other Place Restaurant, located just outside of downtown Salt Lake City, is a Greek owned diner/cafe/restaurant that has a really fantastic menu selection with a lil bit of something for everyone. This family friendly, casual diner is definitely a Salt Lake City local favorite and hugely popular among seniors and college students alike.

For breakfast, they’ve got marinated pork and eggs, gryo omelettes, hamburger steak and eggs, and my favorite, ‘The Pile’ which consists of a massive portion of hash browns, onions, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, feta cheese, and two eggs. Did I say feta? Yeah, The Other Place isn’t afraid of layin’ on the feta. Want my advice on breakfast? Make sure that you get a side of french toast with whatever you order, you’ll thank me later!

Already ate breakfast? Woke up at 3pm Sunday morning after a wild night? The Other Place serves a pretty tasty lunch and dinner menu. Lunch entrees include liver and onions, halibut steak, fish and chips, and hamburger steak. All lunch entrees are served with soup or salad, bread, potatoes, AND vegetables. They also serve pastrami burgers, Greek souvlaki, hot sandwiches, 3 different kinds of gryos, salads, tons of Greek appetizers, and  …. you can’t have a restaurant that serves everything without … spaghetti! If for any reason you actually still have room for dessert, try their homemade rice pudding or my personal fav, the baklava.

The Other Place Restaurant is located on 469 East and 300 South in Salt Lake City. They are open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you don’t want to have a dine-in experience, The Other Place Restaurant offers all of their menu items to go. Check out The Other Place’s menu below (or download for safe keeping), check it out and then give them a call at 801-521-6567.
